Did you know?
Under the Trans Tasman agreement you can practice pharmacy in New Zealand with relative ease. Providing you are registered in Australia you can register under this agreement in New Zealand by completing a 4 week training program along with an interview by a practicing pharmacist approved by the Pharmacy Council of New Zealand. The object of the interview is to ensure you have adapted to the changes in New Zealand Pharmacy, it is not a test of clinical knowledge.
Where does Raven’s come into it?
Raven's have been operating an overseas transfer scheme to New Zealand for many years. Raven’s originally worked in partnership with NZPE located in Auckland, NZPE were a specialised Pharmacy Recruitment Agency who had been operating for over 15 years. Raven's acquired NZPE which allows us to ensure that Australian Pharmacists are given the best possible employment conditions in New Zealand.
NZPE have numerous positions available to Australian candidates throughout New Zealand many of whom are able to offer the 4 weeks pre-registration on site.
Am I eligible to work in New Zealand?
As an Australian Citizen you would automatically have the right to work in New Zealand and for non Australian Citizens please check with the Department of Immigration in New Zealand.

You will need to complete 12 months study plus an additional 12 month pre-registration period to register with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS).
You will need to apply for recognition of your qualification, then complete an equivalence exam, a minimum 6 month pre-registration "adaptation" period under a Tutor Pharmacist and then successfully pass a Professional Registration Examination (PRE) to register with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland. A Visa is not required, but when intending to work more than 90 days, you would require your Irish employer to apply for the relevant work permission (Employment Permit).
You will need to complete an exam and a minimum 12 month pre-registration period to register with the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy.
Saudi Arabia: Allied Health professionals can expect to receive an offer of around 12,900-15,500 Saudi Riyals per month (up to $4,082AUD) tax free + accommodation, flights and six (6) weeks annual leave. You will need to apply for a Visa to be able to work there. Please check your Visa and Passport requirements via Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

United Arab Emirates: Salaries are dependent on years of post graduate experience. Income will be tax free + accommodation, flights and six (6) weeks annual leave. You will need to apply for a Visa to be able to work there. Citizens of the GCC nations of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia do not require a Visa to travel to the UAE. Please check your Visa and Passport requirements via General Directorate of Residency and Foreigner Affairs-Dubai.

For Australian registered Pharmacists with an Australian University Degree there is generally a 3 month pre-registration period.
