On the evening of Saturday 14th July, Raven’s Recruitment Director, Alan Sutton attended the National Australian Pharmacy Students’ Association (NAPSA) annual dinner in Melbourne. Mr Sutton was amongst principal sponsor the Pharmacy Guild of Australia (PGA), major sponsors the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia (PSA) as well as representatives from Mylan, the Pharmacy Board of Australia, Fullife Foundation and Star Pharmacy Group.
At the dinner, it was announced that Jessica Hsiao (University of South Australia, Adelaide) has been elected President for the 2018/2019 term. Miss Hsiao will lead a new Board comprised of a further seven Executive Directors, as elected by NAPSA's organisational members:

Miss Hsiao said, " Following in the footsteps of the strong female leaders before me , my goals for the upcoming term is to continue to strengthen the communication of NAPSA within the Advisory Council and our relationship with industry bodies”.
Raven’s Recruitment would like to acknowledge the excellent work of Immediate Past President, Sandra Minas. Under Miss Minas’ tenure, closer collaboration between the Society of Hospital Pharmacists of Australia (SHPA) and NAPSA saw three inaugural events and projects come to fruition to support the next generation of pharmacists.
NAPSA’s Annual Dinner this year was also a celebration of a 70 year jubilee. As a past president of NAPSA myself, it has been encouraging to reflect on this rich journey and the impact students have made.
The confidence the profession has in NAPSA and in the future of pharmacy is a tribute to NAPSA and all pharmacy students for remaining so involved within the profession. NAPSA is an association which offers all pharmacy students numerous opportunities throughout their studies which complement and enhance the quality of university life. Through providing opportunities for networking, socialising, education and information, NAPSA is able to benefit members as student pharmacists in order to ensure the pharmacists of tomorrow uphold the standards of the profession.
